A cooperative preschool is one which the parent and child both "attend".
When you enroll your child in our preschool, you enroll yourself as a member. Participating in the Strongsvile Co-Op
preschool allows you to observe the growth and development of your child in a school setting. You have a unique
opportunity to be an integral part of your child's preschool experience.
Parent participation is required in the classroom, (usually
one day per month), as well as a member of the governing board or on a standing committee. Standing
committees allow the members to share in the smooth operation of the preschool.
Parents with younger siblings of their preschoolers have an informal babysitting
exchange so they participate on their classroom helper days.
Parent helpers in the classroom assist the teachers with the day's lessons,
prepare snacks for the children, and contribute to the daily operations of the class. Parents also get to accompany
their children on field trips to local attractions, typically 2-4 times a year.
Additionally, parents are responsible for attending general meetings of
the preschool (generally, two per year), paying tuition promptly, and participating in cleaning parties (usually once
a year).
Children and parents at the Strongsville Co-Op work together to grow, learn,
and enjoy the preschool experience!
